In August 2011 demolition was begun on The Weymouth Rotary Trestle Train Bridge that was built in 1914.
This bridge was a rotary bridge that could be opened to let the tall ships through. You turned a crank manually and the bridge spun around to let the ships pass to unload & unload their cargo such as tea, spices and molasses. Weymouth actually used to be called Weymouth Bridge. Very sad to see this landmark being torn down.
